The Turkish Super Lig returns once again this weekend as we continue to march through the winter months. There’s a clear picture beginning to form at both ends of the table as all 20 clubs attempt to build some momentum before we enter the final third of the season. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Rizespor and Trabzonspor.

They have been on an absolute tear to the point where they now reside in the top five of the league, and we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them stay there. They’ve found a system that works for them, and it certainly makes for fun viewing for the rest of us.
Rizespor scored early in the second half against Alanyaspor in a game that featured a stunning 40 shots on goal. Unfortunately for them, they weren’t quite able to sustain the forward pressure they were putting on the hosts, conceding in the 70th and 91st to fall to a 2-1 defeat.
Trabzonspor Form GuideAfter going on a 38-year championship drought, Trabzonspor lived up to their reputation as one of the most decorated clubs in Turkey by claiming the big one again in 2022. They are an exceptionally popular side and they’re starting to be recognised as such by newer fans. Hopefully, for their sake, they can get everything clicking after falling away from the top two.
Trabzonspor would’ve been hoping that they could at least keep up with Galatasaray in their meeting with the Turkish giants, but instead, they were taught a valuable lesson in being clinical in front of goal. They were beaten 5-1, and it happened in their own backyard.
Match PredictionRizespor are the ones who need to try and dictate the pace here, especially when you consider the result that Trabzonspor are coming off the back of. We expect this to be a really tight and entertaining clash of styles, with the eventual result of that being a draw.
