The Premier League returns this weekend with a full slate of fixtures as we prepare to enter the month of March. There’s a lot of excitement and tension in the air at both ends of the table and with so much on the line, there are plenty of reasons to feel hyped about what’s ahead. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an intriguing clash between Brentford and Chelsea.
Brentford Form GuideFor the first time since being promoted to the Premier League, it does feel as if there’s a bit of panic in the air at Brentford. As a club, they’re still being run very well, and they aren’t in any immediate danger when it comes to the relegation battle. At the same time, it only takes one bad run of form to lead you down the wrong path, and the Bees have shown some real weaknesses lately.
Brentford went on the road to battle West Ham on Monday Night Football and, for the most part, they had a really good go at the Hammers. Unfortunately, they still have a few too many issues at the back, which led them down the path of a 4-2 defeat.
Chelsea Form GuideThis season hasn’t been particularly fruitful for Mauricio Pochettino and while it may not seem like it, a lot rests on how they bounce back between now and May. They need to make a real fight of it in their pursuit of European football because if they don’t, they could find themselves going through yet another major change by the time the summer window rolls around.
Chelsea went to Wembley last weekend and they battled it out with Liverpool in a really entertaining clash. Alas, when you lose to a handful of your opponents’ youth team, there are going to be questions asked of the manager - and rightfully so.
Match PredictionIn this local derby, we truly believe that it could go either way, largely because of how inconsistent both teams have been as of late. We’re fascinated to see the game transpire because we do think it’ll be quite physical, with our official prediction being under 2.5 goals scored.
